Best known for his association with Count Basie, Minger is heard taking full advantage of the rare chance to stretch out with just a rhythm section (pianist Dolph Castellano, bassist Keter Betts, and drummer Bobby Durham), and he digs into the standards and really does stretch himself. An underrated gem.
