简介

SIMPLY ORGAN is a brand new compilation by the internationally acclaimed organist Simone Stella that includes some of the best known classical music pieces from different eras arranged for the king of the instruments. From Bach's most celebrated Toccata and Fugue in d minor to Handel's glorious Hallelujah chorus from 'Messiah', a musical journey that gives to the listeners the chance to feel a world of emotions from the eternal music of the greatest composers. Born in Florence in 1981, Simone Stella has been a pupil of harpsichordist Francesco Cera. He also studied organ with Mariella Mochi and Alessandro Albenga and organ improvisation with Fausto Caporali and Stefano Rattini. He has attended many courses and seminars held by international acclaimed artists, including Ton Koopman, Matteo Imbruno, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Luca Scandali, Giancarlo Parodi, Stefano Innocenti, Klemens Schnorr, Ludger Lohmann, Michel Bouvard, Monika Henking and Guy Bovet. Simone Stella is the winner of the 2nd and 3rd “Alessandro Esposito” Youth Organ Competition held in Lucca (2004-05), and the 1st “Agati-Tronci” International Organ Competition held in Pistoia (2008). He has performed as soloist and in chamber groups in Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, USA and Brazil. His repertoire is devoted principally to the music for organ and harpsichord of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. A particularly interesting project was his live performance (2009-10) of the complete organ works by Dieterich Buxtehude in the historical Church of Orsanmichele in Florence. Actually Stella is titular organist at the historical organs of the churches of SS. Annunziata and Badia Fiorentina in Florence. He has recorded Handel’s harpsichord suites for OnClassical, the complete harpsichord and organ works of Dietrich Buxtehude, Georg Böhm,Johann Adam Reincken and Johann Gottfried Walther for Brilliant Classics as well as the complete harpsichord works of Luigi Cherubini for Amadeus Rainbow and the complete works of Rameau for OnClassical. Active also as composer, Stella has published for the italian publisher Armelin.
