About Carlsson: After discovering the world of electronic sounds on an early home computer, German-born artist Carlsson began writing his first compositions. Having grown up in the countryside where not many shared his love for Synthpop and New Wave, he decided early on not to join one of the local rock bands, but instead, remain solo. That was long, long ago and far, far away. After moving to New York Carlsson began incorporating lyrics to accompany his melodies and blended synthesizer-driven tracks with more traditional piano based arrangements. Carefully creating his songs to reflect his quiet, low-key personality, his songs became based on simple yet powerful tunes with few words. Melody and rhythm always take priority above everything else while his lyrics never take more than a supporting role in his approach to music. But no matter whether it's danceable or melancholic, the end product is straight, well-crafted Synthpop that is written with the intent of lingering in the listener's mind.
