Naye Songz is an artist, singer and songwriter from Atlanta who is ready to set the music industry on fire with her blend of soulful style and mature vibes. The middle child of seven siblings, Naye was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, she used music as a means to escape all of the pressures of dealing with her weight issues and the subsequent bullying she faced from kids as a result. In addition, Naye was inspired by her mother’s radiant voice, awestruck as she listened to her mother sing the likes of Whitney Houston and Mary J. Blige around the house. After noticing that she did not hear many female artists in the male-oriented hip hop played on the radio, Naye became infatuated by the likes of Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot and Aaliyah, among others. From as early as eight years old, the singer expressed interest in working in the television and music industries. After being inspired by turn-of-the-millennium hip hop and R&B, Naye decided that she wanted to make music which made others feel good. Her excitement for the music industry allowed her to pursue work in multiple sectors of the field; always a fan of watching music videos on BET, Naye also began working with music video production behind the scenes. Naye wrote her first song at age 14, the year after her family moved to Ohio. Originally very shy about her music and songwriting, Naye was pushed by her older brother to pursue music and make a demo tape. After creating her third demo tape on her personal karaoke machine, Naye was also supported by her parents and family, who began to refer to her as a star. It was around this time that Naye began to seriously pursue a career in music.
