Scott Gillies was born and raised in the arid suburbs of Los Angeles. Messing with the knobs on his parents’ stereo before he could talk, music has always been a big influence on his life. He picked up guitar at the age of 15 after starting a band with some friends, and over the years his voracious musical appetite has lead him down a variety of paths from punk, metal, ska and alternative, to psychedelic and progressive, with forays into electronic and R&B.

After years of amplification, Scott returns to his folk roots on "Out of Shadows." His first solo EP is a refreshing blend of beautifully composed acoustic guitar and inspirational, thought provoking lyrics. Music lovers of all genres will appreciate "Out of Shadows," especially fans of Neil Young, Ray LaMontagne, and Townes Van Zandt.
