简介

The Jack LeCompte Trio is all about the groove. Keeping feet tappin' and heads bobbin' everywhere they play with their funky, soulful and swingin' down the middle jazz interpretations of originals and standards.. At the helm is drummer Jack LeCompte, who with his in demand, swinging, tasty style has played with many top artists including Anita O'Day, Gladys Knight, Cheryl Bentyne, Liza Minnelli, Barbara Morrison, Jack Sheldon , Natalie Cole, Big bands of: Les Brown, Harry James & Glenn Miller Tribute, Art Garfunkel, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Jose Feliciano, Marilyn Mc Coo, Peter Nero, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Tito Puente Jr., Dukes of Dixieland & L.A. Jazz Society and Harry Allen. Bassist Lou Shoch has recorded and toured with Barry Manilow, Lou Rawls, Big Joe Turner and the Fifth Dimension. Pianist Larry DiTommaso is a hit songwriter who along with co-writer Ralph Dino composed the smash hit "Do What You Do" recorded by Jermaine Jackson and "When You Talk to Me" recorded by the great Peabo Bryson. Larry was also a member of the popular "Philly Jazz Trio". On their debut CD they navigate some of their own soulful, bluesy originals including the opener "Takin' the 88" that takes off cookin right out of the gate. Next is the title track "Blue Collar", a funky, kickin' piece that dances to the groove. Following that is a swinging version of Peter Nero's "Sunday in New York". The latin jazz samba "Helen's Dance" is next, followed by the down home groove blues called "Larry's Blues". Next up is Hal Corbin's jazz hit "Soul Sister" done ala "Young Holt Unlimited", and then the beautiful Bacharach, David tune "Alfie". Plus a groovin' version of an appropriately titled "Groovin", made famous by the Rascals in the 60's. Then comes the beautiful "Invitation" here with a latin samba treatment. Followed by a true foot tapper "That Old Lovebug". Then comes Jack's ode to the great drum hits of the 50's and 60's,"March of the Boogiemen". The closer is the trio's funk swing version of the Ramsey Lewis megahit "In Crowd" which has been a crowd favorite wherever they play. So come on in. "Live at Mac's Place". Presenting "The Jack LeCompte Trio" !
