Drummer and Percussionist Julio Figueroa was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since 1993, Julio has lived in Los Angeles, CA and quickly became one of the most sought after Drummer and Percussionist in the country. His credits incude such diverse acts as Michael Jackson, Jenifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Joan Sebastian, Nydia, Juan Gabriel, Gypsy Kings, Chayanne and Alejandro Sans among many. Julio is fully endorsed by DW Drums, Meinl Cymbals, Remo Drumheads, Regal Tip Sticks, Meinl Percussion and Puresound Percussion. "Tres Americas" is Julio's first solo Album recorded in 1991 and it features some of the best Musicians both in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Los Angeles, California. The CD contains eight tracks that exposes eight different passages of Julio's musical influences. This music varys from the melodic Funk-Samba "Salvador" to the New Wage infectious groove of "Shaking Sheets" featuring Percussion master Domingo Cura from Gato Barbieri's and Jose Feliciano's band. "Rouge" is a beautiful Jazz Ballad featuring the amazing Alvaro Torres on acoustic Piano. "Batuque Malandro" is a Brazilian batucada featuring Julio on sixteen different Percussion instruments. "She Goes" is a heavy funk groove composed and performed with master Bass player Roberto Amerise. "Obstinately Miles" is a tribute to the late Miles Davis with a Funky and Syncopated groove featuring Julio, Domingo, Alvaro and Roberto. "Residal Blue" and "Bones" are two fusion masterpieces composed and arranged by the one and only Steve Gugerty featuring guitarrist Andy Abad and Bassist Lee Burkhart.
