简介
This acoustic performance was recorded live, straight to two-track with all the nuances (a nice word for mistakes) at the Old Town School of Folk Music by Jeff Sagota. This was a show in which Trigger Gospel was opening for the Chicago bluegrass duo Freakwater. About Anna Fermin's Trigger Gospel: Named after an old Western novel, anna fermin’s trigger gospel reflects a spirited sound that intertwines hometown country and rock & roll with “a strong melodic-pop appeal.” (Holly Rushakoff, The Octopus) Formed in 1997, anna fermin’s trigger gospel has garnered the attention and respect of critics and music fans alike, hooking audiences with their eclectic songs and rousing live shows. In the years this Chicago-based band has been together, they’ve shared the stage with an impressive roster of musicians including Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Joe Ely, Robbie Fulks, Delbert McClinton, Neko Case and many more. WHAT FOLKS ARE SAYING about ANNA FERMIN and TRIGGER GOSPEL: “Have you heard her sing? She’s great.” Jimmy Dale Gilmore “...one of Chicago’s most treasured voices.” Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune "This Chicago country-rock band evokes the emotions and honesty of classic country while keeping its sound fresh and original. And Fermin's voice is just phenomenal.” Rob Thomas, CapitalTimes/Wisconsin State Journal “Eschewing the rougher sides of the genre, [Anna Fermin’s] sound is sweet and true, equal parts twang and hook." Mike O’Cull, Illinois Entertainer "...you'll want to testify to the power of passionate country music." Country Music Today (CMT.com) "...a sweet, soulful siren who is impossible to ignore." Matthew Perrine, Duluth Budgeteer News The eclectic influences of her bandmates, who include Paul Bivans on drums & percussion, Michael Krayniak on bass, and Scott Ligon on guitar & keyboard, have become the perfect compliment to Fermin’s stunning originals, "that smartly place her voice where it belongs - front and center.” (Monica Eng/Chicago Tribune)
