Everyone has a place where they can be their own person. Writing and singing songs is my happy place. As a singer/ songwriter, I have the opportunity to share my stories that I found are stories that other people can relate to. I love creative storytelling through music and I hope that my experiences connect with my listener’s experience. Last Love Song- As a teenager there are many nights that I fall asleep, I always imagine a situation with the guy I like. I dream the perfect summer romance. Going on adventures, dancing in the rain, laying under the stars, and cute spur of the moment dates. Superhuman- I wish I could be someone’s hero. Someone that I could help and be strong for that person. I would be there to protect them from anything or anyone. What I love most about music is that i can encourage my listeners, even though I may not have ever met them. Without You- Without You is the most personal song I have ever written. Everyone at my high school knew a fellow student named Chase Burnett either as a friend or as the kid who would ride his heelys through the halls. Our whole school was affected when Chase suddenly passed away. I honestly felt so alone and helpless and so I turned to music to try and solve my loneliness. As I was writing, I realized that everyone felt alone and I wasn’t the only one who could relate to this situation. Everyone has to go through a painful goodbye or a death and it hurts the same way. Pavement Side- Everyday you wake up, you open a new chapter in your life. Growing up means making your own decisions, taking on more responsibility, planning for your future, and taking on the world. Although becoming older is scary at times, there is a certain vibe of excitement. The anticipation of correcting mistakes you made, becoming self-sufficient, and realizing that you have the chance to change the world. Survivor of a Broken Heart- Come on, we were all waiting for it-- the breakup song (I’m a sixteen year old girl, what do you expect?) This isn’t just about the guy that broke a girl’s heart. The lyrics show how a breakup is not the end of the world. I’m 99.99% sure that either you or a friend have been through a rough breakup. You probably were searching for the right words to say to comfort your friend and make them feel better. Honestly, you can say all the right words but the breakup hurts the same. I’m in high school so most of my friends have been in a relationship that went downhill. I try to be a great friend and stick by them when this happens because we know sooner or later, the person’s broken heart will heal with time ( or a busy schedule.) BUT eventually everything will be okay!!!
