Singer/songwriter Louise Quinn and producer/drummer Bal Cooke have been making music under the name Quinn for the past 5 years. During that time, they have worked with artists such as Kid Loco (who produced their second album ‘Luss’), Alex Kapranos (who plays on their first album ‘Inbetween Worlds’), Jarvis Cocker, The Pastels and Bill Wells. Their music has been used in films by award-winning directors David McKenzie and Penny Woolcock. In 2005, the band had a top 10 hit in Serbia, which led to a tour and documentary. Their song ‘Autumn’ reached 4 in the album charts on the‘Acoustic vol.1’ compilation and they appeared (twice!) on BBC2 Scotland’s ‘The Music Show’. Last album gained admirers such as Bob Harris, Rob Da Bank and Vic McGlynn. Their latest album, ‘Sun Moon Stars’ was recorded live with band members Steven Westwater (bass) and Scottish jazz legend Robert Henderson (trumpet/electronics), with guest appearance from Echo and The Bunnymen guitarist Gordy Goudie. It already has a 5-star review in Straight No Chaser; ‘classic soulful indie rock wrapped up in jazz, folk and electronica and delivered with Glasgow’s trademark authenticity’.
