Alf Häggkvist has worked as a teacher at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and in Piteå in the north of Sweden. He also taught music at several preparatory music schools. Since 1992, he has lived in Ekerö, Stockholm and has freelanced since 1999. As well as playing with many of the great Swedish jazz musicians, Alf has also worked with international artists. He is a prolific composer and loves to delve and develop through his trio. You can hear him play free form jazz, both in solo and other formations and has a personal and special take on jazz standards. He also performs hymns and folksongs solo around in churches in Sweden, with special focus on his creative improvisations.
