Eclectic singer-songwriter Marlon Saunders drops his new single, "Beautiful Design," from his evolving project Soul: Spirit Opening Up Lovingly. Saunders creates a very rich texture by layering funky rhythms with ambient keyboards and bluesy-soul guitars. The backing vocals weave and soar throughout the track, delivering soulful harmonies that leave you wanting more! Marlon's warm, soulful vocals float amidst all this funkiness with great ease. "Beautiful Design" will touch your heart and keep you dancing! Marlon's thoughts about his new project: "My new music work entitled Soul: Spirit Opening Up Lovingly is an evolving project. I call it an evolving project because I want to create from a space that is free. No specific deadline or specific number of songs prepared for a CD. I am enjoying the idea of going in the studio and working on a song and then sharing it with my fans. I am looking forward to spending time collaborating with many types of artists and playing with various styles. It's great to let the music guide how the project will evolve. I love working in this type of freedom." Marlon Saunders, former professor and alumnus of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, has performed with Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Bobby McFerrin, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, Shawn Colvin, Nine Inch Nails, Jane Siberry, Shania Twain, Willie Nelson, Javier Colon, Martha Wash, and Dance Theatre of Harlem among others. Marlon has sung on over 100 radio and television commercials including Oscar Mayer, Pizza Hut, Bud Lite, Diet Coke, and most recently the new Swiffer campaign. Marlon’s voice can also be heard on the new NBC series, Smash. Marlon appears as the Calypso Singer in the popular Disney film, Enchanted. Marlon sings the Academy Award-nominated song, “That’s How You Know” with Amy Adams, who appears in the role of Giselle. The song also received best-song nominations at the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards. Marlon performed “That’s How You Know” live at the 80th Annual Academy Awards with Tony award winner Kristin Chenoweth. Marlon is also one of the founding members and the lead singer of the eclectic soul-jazz group, Jazzhole.
