简介
What does pain punctuated by bliss feel like? What does isolation with wild nights out do to the psyche? That is the reality Mark Raven lived, or rather, fell into. His new album, Gold Star, was written and recorded as if he woke up every morning on a bed or organs and synthesizers. Every experience was dragged violently through a hazy dream pop, all bruising taking on a bright glimmer. The album starts with Raven stargazing in the back of a friend’s car with “Backseat” before his emotional state slowly forced him deep into isolation in tracks such as “Best Forever” and “Ghost Ship”. He is only able to reconcile with his troubles after a final loss “Coma”, culminating in the victory of “Massive Wave”
