Quiet on the Set debut release review.

‘Medic’ opens the album with good tone and solid drumming. Lyrically, this is better than much of the Punk/Pop genre; solid harmonies and a good chorus. The vocalist’s unique tone and good showing make for a nice opening performance. ‘This Room’ brings back ’80s synth pop, pairing electro influences and palm muted guitars with simplistic verses. The classic backing voices and sounds work well. ’Lights’ is even more synth-oriented, and is especially simplistic across the board in first verse. ‘Out There’ has a lot of potential; the tag after the chorus is very strong and the second verse works well. It is very unique, with a great breakdown instrumentally and digitally. ‘Drain’ was very soft and slow. The acoustic guitar was played well, and the second verse seems strong. A megaphone verse and good backing vocals began subdued until finally the song picks up and full band comes in well and commanding. Great vocal harmonies and a fantastic instrumental display prove this band has potential. This build probably should have began sooner, but there was a good second half performance, and the completely a cappella section is brave and intelligent. Much of their lyrical material is memorable, and this is a solid debut performance from Quiet on the Set.
