简介

The debut album by The Go Tell Crusade is the collaborative product of veteran songwriter David Seale and multi-faceted musician and studio master Les Nuby (Vulture Whale, formerly of Verbena), whose previous work with Idlewild, Amy Ray, Tara Naomi and others has earned him a reputation nationally as a gifted session and road player as well as an adept engineer. He certainly works his magic with Seale’s songs to create a pageantry of hooks, jangle, and weaving guitars and harmonies, and with the addition of Seale’s three-octave leads, “Maybe So” becomes a crafty, thoughtful power pop explosion in the tradition of REM, Let’s Active, and other Southeastern pop artists. From the rocking (“Break In Two”, “Obsession”) to the charming (“Did You Mean It?”, “St. Saphorin”) to the upbeat (“Safety of the Sun”, “Everything About You”) to the wistful and reflective (“Out of Reach”, “Montreaux”, “No Such Thing As Goodbye”) to even the schizophrenic (“Never Wanted It This Way”), the album delivers the perfect musical blend and accentuates the talents of the band members, while also proving that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Eight of the cuts are also part of the soundtrack to Joseph Caufield’s vampire novel, “The Murder of Ravens” (tracks 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16) which will be published by St. Bob Publishing in late 2009/early 2010. “Break In Two” also appears on the Warning Track compilation album, “City of Magic – Summer 2009”, available on CDBaby and numerous other digital distribution centers.
