"Frank Porter - Live" is a project that took shape during the "Who I Am" tour. On that tour I acquired a collection of live recordings. Thanks go to Phil Stahl and Doktor Wiz from The Phil Stahl Radio Show that aired on WXLV in The Lehigh Valley. There are songs from the radio show and songs recorded at various local clubs where Phil Stahl hosts open mic nights and records the featured act for his radio show. I enhanced some of these songs in my home studio.. The cover photo was taken by my wife, Bernadette Porter. This is very much a family effort. Phil Stahl has been like an extended family member for over a decade now. I thank both Phil and Doctor Wiz for their great work. A huge thank you to Bernadette for continuing to put up with my antics and for supporting my music career. It is my hope that you, the listener and fan, will appreciate this collection of live recordings! At age 51, I have been writing and performing original songs for decades and have had brushes with fame and recently got signed to a record label called Tate Music Group. You will find my 2013 studio album, Who I Am, on their webpage. This new live album is the result of playing live often. In 2013, 2014, and 2015 I played many venues and some of the highlights are Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, PA, The Make Music New York Festival, in New York City, John and Peter's in New Hope, PA, Dr. Lou's Place in Roebling, NJ, and The Fire in Philadelphia, PA. There were many more venues. I was also featured on a couple television shows. One called "Inside Music Today," which airs on regional cable and on The Phil Stahl Show which airs on RCN and Comcast. Out On The Town Magazine also did a featured article on me. I have gotten pretty far for a guy that still holds down a day job. I’m a working class musician and songwriter still looking for that break. My guitar skills were noticed by Gibson and Epiphone in 2008 when I competed in their guitar soloing competition called, "Guitarfest." In round one in Quakertown, PA I took second place earning a free acoustic guitar and the right to travel to Rochester, NY for the finals. Well... at my wife's urging I did drive to Rochester on a very rainy day. I was the final performer of the event and came out on top. I took home a nice prize package in addition to bragging rights for beating over 300 other guitarists from six states in this event. So for all guitar heads out there this album has a few songs you will love. There's one called, "Fly," which is very special and quite challenging. I would love it if you modern guitarheads would learn to play, "Fly." Request it on your favorite radio stations and help show the world there are still great guitar songs in this world which has become so over-saturated with other less guitar oriented music. Earlier in 2015 "Fly" took sixth place in an international songwriting competition in the instrumental category. There was a fellow competitor who took three of the top six places in the instrumental category who was trained at the academy of music in Dresden, Germany.
