Niko has an old soul. He grew up listening to musicians such as Johnny Cash, John Lee Hooker, and Brian Setzer. Anthony grew up surrounded by old school blues and jazz players, as well as an aunt that would blast Guns N' Roses and Grateful Dead throughout the house. Both of their play styles were shaped by the artists they grew up with, thus their need to create something that was catchy and bluesy. Misery From Below is about a guy who loves this girl, who, as it turns out, ends up being a bit crazy. They move in together and she doesn’t like the dog they have, so she drowns the dog. Later, the guy ends up drinking himself under the table because he feels so miserable. She caused so many problems for the guy that he took an iron crowbar and beat her to death. According to him, she had the devil in her veins and she deserved it. He will gladly take the fall. Only problem, is that nobody knew what he did. He got away with her murder and hid her grave. He lives his life and, even though she made him miserable, he still wished she could be back by his side. In the end, he cracked from the hold she held on him, even through death, and he began losing track of his days. He did the only thing he could do to get rid of the pain and misery of her, by killing himself with a dull knife.
