Weapon of Choice: Formed in February of 2008, Weapon of Choice has come into the Windsor scene taking no prisoners. Armed with the brutality of Slayer and hints of complexity akin to Lamb of God, this band bleeds the old adage: If you give the people monster riffs, they will give you a dirty pit. W.o.C. is about being parts of everything metal, but keeping damned sure that the riffs have content and lasting power... not just technical noise. From riding a heavy groove to smashing discordance and everything in between... they're looking to shove their proverbial metal boot up some asses and add to the growing strength that is pure heavy metal. Tye - "I always wanted to to play in a metal band ever since I heard the riff from '5 Minutes Alone' off of PanterA's Far Beyond Driven album. James was jamming with some guy which seems to be the endless story, you know, "Man I swear he rocks!" and then you show up and it's a total bust... but no, this dude was metal enough and liked playing stuff like As I Lay Dying and Killswitch... although not my cup of tea the speed and heaviness were there. We started jamming and it clicked just like that... before we knew it we had enough for a live setlist... and never looked back." Forest - "I'd been practicing drums for a few years quite seriously already when I met these guys, but I'd never been in a serious band before. I believed not until I was ready would I seek one. It was a completely random out of no where chance that I got to try out for this band. I'll never forget that day, since then I've had the time of my life with these guys. I want to rip metal till I die." Erik: James: Mike: The Rebellion EP: Recorded at Spectre Sound Studios in Southern Ontario during the week of March 27th, 2011. With Glenn Fricker at engineering helm the metal outfit, all of the songs were recorded live off the floor with no click track and minimalist overdubbing, and that helped create the raw live intensity all of the members envisioned their sound having. Betrayer and recently Perpetuate... it was obvious that Glenn has a knack for capturing the heaviness that a lot of other engineers would have been stifled by.
