KYRA CHRISTIAAN- “Though she be but little, she is fierce!” Whether in the unique twists and turns in her life, or in her music, this 5’2” Texas-born Pop singer/songwriter/actress just doesn’t break. She rarely stops talking or singing about life, love, pain or the pain of love and life. She always grabs more attention than one would ever predict, given her size. A true pop music lover and creator, it’s the powerful, passionate honesty in her life and her music that resonates. After going undercover for a while, she’s ready to debut her new single, “Up 2 Me” in March, 2017, with a video premier in April, followed by a summer EP release. Born a unique blend of ethnicities including Native American, African American, Caucasian, Irish and English, Kyra is quick to proclaim, “Not all mixed girls look the same.” That’s not all that’s unique about this artist. She’s a fighter and bears her scars like medals. Just moments after her birth, Kyra was life-flighted to Baylor Hospital for her first of many surgeries. Even though she spent most of her early years in and out of children’s hospitals, she started singing and performing in musical theater, on children’s records and in radio commercials by the age of 4. Her family moved to Nashville when she was 9 years old. On her 13th birthday, just 4 months after a second heart surgery, she sang and performed an original co-write for a major label showcase that resulted in her first song placement with EMI/CMG. The song, “Joyride” was on a top charting Pop CD along with a remix. It was featured on The Disney Channel, Radio Disney and other pop radio stations and stages around the world and on various additional compilation projects. Her voice can now be heard on the Disney TV/soundtrack/DVD “Shake It Up” single, “School’s Out.” This track gained her hundreds of thousands of young Disney fans and countless fan videos on YouTube. Kyra grew up in a music/entertainment biz family, so it’s what she’s used to. Early on, she was heavily exposed and involved in the Contemporary Christian Music industry, but as a young teen she gravitated to the pop and R&B music that she was cautiously exposed to at home. “I was guarded from a lot of music and media as a child, but there was always good R&B, Gospel, Motown soul, old-school funk, pop, jazz and even country music playing at home. Once I was older, my mom sat with me in our home studio and played all of her once forbidden classic Prince LP’s back to back for me. The musicality and the energy felt like home. I’ve combined that with my love for the artists I grew up listening to like Michael, The Jackson5, Brandy, Mariah, Whitney, Janet, and newer artists like Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, Kehlani, Drake, Zara Larsson and Kacey Musgraves... I’m a true lover of good, fun music and clever writing. Pop is always moving and mixing it up. It’s either gonna make you smile, scream, cry or dance. It’s gotta do somethin’!” Kyra has several commercials, film, print modeling and music video credits including Kings Of Leon, Alan Jackson, Nick Carter and Eric Church. She has performed on stages in the US, London and Denmark, but as a singer/songwriter, she’s been in more Nashville and L.A. studios and writing rooms than she can count. She shares writing credits on her upcoming EP with award winning artist/writer/producer, Nash Overstreet (American Music Award winner, Hot Chelle Rae/Jive Records) & writer/producer, Ben Schofield. Throughout her career she has also garnered co-write credits with award winners like Morris Hayes, James Waddell, Jeremy Bose, Paul Overstreet, Tyler Hayes-Biecks, Drew Ramsey, Cindy Morgan as well as new artist James Droll and production teams- HOT RUSH and BOY GENIUS. The upcoming EP marks a new beginning for Kyra Christiaan. “I’m ready now, because I’m comfortable with my story, it’s time, and I’m bored with being quiet.” Favorite quote- “Everyday I feel is a blessing from God. And I consider it a new beginning. Yeah, everything is beautiful.” ~Prince.
