Alexander Sage Oyen is a new musical theatre composer/lyricist and performer. His musical, Dachau (music and lyrics w/ Christopher Metz), was workshopped at The University of Central Florida and his concert/song cycle, Context (now titled "Rebel Verses"), premiered in New York City. As a kid, he was seen rocking out on VH1s In Search of the Partridge Family where he came in third for the role of Danny Partridge. He also had the incredible opportunity to perform beside Broadway veterans Faith Prince and Davis Gaines as Toby in Sweeney Todd. He's currently attending the University of Minnesota/ Guthrie BFA Actor Training Program and is also hard at work on two original book-musicals and other miscellaneous writing projects.

As a kid- Alexander Sage Oyen wanted to be a rock star (up there alongside his heroes- N*Sync and Hanson). Nothing has changed.

His Mother, the acclaimed Cabaret singer Lois Sage taught him to harmonize at the age of three and he was hooked. Growing up, he also had incredible musical influences like listening to John Bucchino (for whom his Mom sang original demos of his brilliant songs), Stephen Schwartz and Stephen Sondheim in the car as a kid. He fell in love with their songs, their brilliant sensibility for character and their incredible gift for melody- and then fell in love with the rock stylings and piano techniques of Billy Joel and Elton John. Now he's got Ben Folds, John Mayer and John Butler Trio on his list of musical influences (just to name a few).

At the age of 19, Alexander Sage Oyen is releasing his debut album featuring some of his best friends singing songs that range from being written a few months ago, to when he was 13 years old.
