In 1990 Yes No Maybe were on the lamb, dodging police as they snaked through City streets, stopping briefly for illegal performances out the back of their 18 foot bobtail truck. Then their luck ran out, as one evening's performance ended in arrest and jail by the SFPD for operating a sound truck without a permit and obstruction of traffic. More trouble arrived in the form of a newspaper article about their mobile radio station KYNM, which they operated from inside their truck. This triggered an aggressive investigation by the FCC, culminating in an injunction and the threat of additional charges. With much regret and mounting legal woes, Yes No Maybe completed their final recordings at Different Fur studios in San Francisco and sadly dissolved their artistic partnerships. But it was a magic time while it lasted. You really ought to hear what avant-popadelic can sound like, influenced by late 1980's San Francisco, and all that came with it.. hold on while I catch my breath...
