简介
Larry hails from Paducah, KY. He is both a physician and a musician. His music is heavily influenced by the likes of Springsteen and Dylan, as well as R.E.M. and Jim Croce. This album contains elements of folk, pop, and rock, the kind of music that defines Americana. His lyrics are thought-provoking and clever. He once operated on a man while performing an entire rock opera. (Okay, that's a joke.) It's otherwise difficult to combine two arts, that of practicing medicine and that of guitar-playing. Co-produced by the late Tim Krekel, who also plays guitar on the majority of the cuts, this album is rich in musical content of fine musicians, including Nick Stump from Metro Blues All-Stars, Gene Wickliffe from the blues band The Mudctas, as well as the banjo and dobro of Steve Cooley who plays with and produced the Dillards. Tanita Gaines and Robbie Bartlett also bring their soulful voices to the vocal arrangements. For those who remember Velvet Elvis, this album also features the guitar work of Dan Trisko. Several of the songs have wonderful horn arrangements. This album truly creates a musical mood that hearkens back to the heyday of greats like Johnny Rivers and Johnny Cash.
