简介
"Mixing good music with a little attitude...an assortment of smooth grooves, some heavy-layered jazz, a little horn action, some nice high clear vocals" SEATTLE TIMES You'll hear evidence of Richie Havens, Joan Armatrading and Van Morrison in his (Keith's) sweet, soulful voice. Soul with a tender edge." THE STRANGER, SEATTLE WA NW Music with and East Coast attitude" LOCALS ONLY, PORTLAND OR Co-produced by Jimmy Thomas of The Squirrels and American Music fame, FIRE WITH FIRE catches Keith and Curtis at their best: from the sublime jazziness of "Dragon Lady" to the urbanized reggae of the title track. The Seattle scene is further well served with Bill Blackstone of the Charles White Band adding some blistering sax and flute work, while Ava Chakravarti sings backup vocals on "Waves of Joy". Arriving in Seattle in 1986, Keith hooked up with the legendary University Bistro Showcase, where he performed and enjoyed regular radio airplay on 98.9FM's weekly "Best Of The Showcase". His band "Lab Report" played the local circuit and recorded some tracks at Crow Studio, where Keith first worked with keyboardist/composer Curtis Seals. The writing/production/performing team of Keith and Curtis(aka NYQ) blossomed over the years, producing many memorable jazz/funk/reggae tunes and a CD, FIRE WITH FIRE, which charted on many NW radio stations and was distributed in the Far East. Keith Anderson & NYQ also wowed the local audience on Cable TV (as the house band for Professor Fred's B Movie Bash),and with live concerts (including the Bite of Seattle). Originally released in 1994 (cassette) and 1995 (CD), FIRE WITH FIRE has been remastered by Chick Holland (Lahaina Studios UK) for NO EXCUSE RECORDS.
