简介
Purple Party is a collection of catchy, original songs written in a collaboration between Reid Moriarty, a young man with autism, and his music therapist of 13 years, Angela Neve. Young children particularly love to sing along and dance with the upbeat, crowd-pleasing songs –– whether they know their colors or are learning them. When Reid was 6, Angela came to his house to teach him ways to say hello, how to take turns, and even math facts through music. When Reid was 10, they performed around San Diego and formed The Kingsmen band – with Reid as front man. When he was 16, Angela gave Reid a recording session for Christmas to inspire their first original song, Shine. Now Reid and Angela have a collection of songs about every color in the rainbow. Music therapy truly lasts a lifetime. In a sense, the CD is a tribute to Reid’s life of music therapy. Reid learned the recording process by doing it with Angela and alumni of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston who contributed to Purple Party’s professional sound. Reid’s twin sister, Allie, played flute. Another music therapist, Emma Byrd, and producer, Chris Hobson are Berklee alumni. “If you’re going to make music, make sure it’s good,” is Angela’s first songwriting tip on the bonus track. Purple Party includes two bonus tracks: a recent "Talk Time" podcast where Reid interviews Angela and Songwriting Tips for teachers, therapists, and families."Talk Time with Reid Moriarty" is a series of 7-9 minute podcast interviews with people he finds interesting, and you might too! More than 30 are available on Soundcloud including one with Andy Grammar, Keb' Mo', one of the Rockettes, and Murray Monster of Sesame Street.
