简介
I wrote this song January 2012 after taking a Shakespeare class in which we read Hamlet. Lyrics: I don’t know what to think anymore Yet what’s worse I don’t know if I ever did In this world of blind allegiance Did they use me, could I let myself admit this And all I wanted was assurance That my thoughts were worth something But they just speak with condescension While you leave my soul trembling So I won’t trust no one, can’t trust myself With eyes wide open Cause I can’t trust your words, you’ve made it worse With false devotion ‘Cause you tell me what you want to hear What you want to hear (2x) Want to believe in You tell me what you want to hear And I believe it (2x) Cause I don’t know how to feel anymore Yet what’s worse I don’t know if I ever did at the start And garlands form beneath my fingers, music pours (from) between my lips And the ruthless tintinnabulation throbs as your poison in my ears As I fall 'Cause what else could I do Fall So I won’t trust no one, can’t trust myself With eyes wide open ‘Cause I can’t trust your words, you’ve made it worse With false devotion ‘Cause you tell me what you want to hear What you want to hear (2x) Want to believe in You tell me what you want to hear What you want to hear And I believe it (2x) 'Cause what else could I do It’s tragic, they say, that when you took him You took my judgment too Yet now I see what I pushed aside to keep myself sane I see the truth in all of you Thorned fingers for what gain; Tell me is it better to let it all go Or just keep playing this game Or will they both amount in the same 'Cause I don’t know what to feel anymore Yet what’s worse I don’t know if I ever did from the start How can I cope with all this chaos Lamentations from my lips Think what they’ll say of poor Ophelia Lost within Neptunian grip As I fall into my own reflection * * * Recorded September 2012 at Blast House Studios.
