Candace Harrell has a heart for the presence of God and the people of God. Faithfully raised by godly parents who introduced her to the Lord at a young age, she learned by example what it means to serve Jesus Christ by seeing her parents serve with passion in the house of God. Even at a tender age, she loved singing in the children’s choir and was influenced greatly by the hymns and the powerful gospel tunes of that time. Candace taught herself to play the piano by the age of 18 and pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Fullerton in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Music. After graduation, Candace intended to pursue a career in R&B music with 11 self-penned songs, but God had other plans for her. In 2010, she began to suffer setbacks and experienced a low season that she could not understand. Doors were closing and the setbacks kept coming, forcing her to press in to her relationship with God and seek His presence and His word. She had faith in a faithful God. During this season of seeking God’s will and direction for her life, Candace received revelation, wisdom, and understanding. “Not only did God bring my private and public worship to a higher level, He continued to press upon my heart to always know His character, even in the midst of trying circumstances and difficult situations,” she says. “My perspective shifted as God increased my faith, steadied me, and revealed that He was preparing me for my future.” Today, Candace walks in the fulfillment of her God-given dreams of maintaining an active speaking schedule, completing her graduate certificate in Worship Studies at Liberty University, serving as a keyboardist for Pastor Jay Haizlip at The Sanctuary church, authoring her second children’s book, and completing her first solo Christian music project. Her mission is to lead people from their brokenness to wholeness in Christ through the ministry of song and the spoken word. Candace has played for artists like Michael Ketterer (of United Pursuit Band), William Matthews (of Bethel Music), Donnie McClurkin, and Adam Ranney. In addition to her solo work, she has collaborated with artists such as Melissa Watanabe on “Brilliant” and “Prayer Letters”, the Second Baptist Church of Westminster’s “I Will Lift,” rapper Joel Debus on his Broken Glass LP, and the Solu+ion Movement on their album No One Greater.
