简介

Jon Washington Started his career as one of Reg Calvert's "Clifton Hall Artists" in Rugby England in the early 1960's. His first record ("Darinda") was released on the British Oriol label when he was 15 years old. He was recruited by his manager to "front" a new group in the Clifton Hall organization. This group became the Fortunes who's recordings of "Youv'e Got Your Troubles (Iv'e Got Mine") and "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again" topped the pop music charts world wide. Washington left the group early in its development to persue a solo career. His Fontana recording of the song "Spare A Thought for Me" entered the British Charts in 1964. In the year of 1965 Jon became the lead singer for the British group The AppleJacks. Their Decca recordings of "Tell Me When" "Three Little Words" and "Like Dreamers Do" were all top 10 songs in England. In 1970 Jon became a solo artist again and moved into the American arena. He began his American recording career in New York City. His first Columbia single was a Billboard Chart record in 1972. After making several more pop records (some how) he stumbled into making country records in Nashville TN! "One Dance Love Affair" was his first country hit. Followed by "Two Hearts" and "If looks Could Kill." His "I Can Feel The Love Coming On" album was nominated for a Country Music Grammy in 2003. He continues to write and record his own music today. "The Rain Tree" is the latest album from this British born singer song writer. Given his track record I believe that we will be hearing a lot more music from Jon Washington for many years to come......
