Marcel Lee Pereira is a multi-faceted singer-songwriter from Singapore. A journalist by training, and a musician by passion, Marcel marries his love for words and melodies in his songs. He has moved listeners to tears with his tales about home, growing up and fatherhood. Marcel has graced the stages of notable performance venues in Singapore, including the Esplanade’s Concert Hall, and its Concourse and Waterfront stages; as well as The Arts House. He was a commissioned artist for Musicity 2014, a location-based platform that explored the intersection of music, memory and experience in Singapore’s iconic Tiong Bahru. He is also regular host of The Diarist Sessions, one of the most prominent open mics in Singapore. Marcel is part of popular indie-folk duo, The Glad Stones, which released its sophomore album in 2015, and was behind the viral single “Kopitiam Kaki” launched for Singapore’s 50th birthday. The band was a Starbucks featured artist in 2013, and performed at events such as the Esplanade Y-Fest 2013, Singapore Writers Festival 2013, and Singapore Night Festival 2015.
