简介
The band that Hinterland found itself compared to more than anyone was U2, and to be sure, the similarities are hard to miss. Hinterland was also from Ireland, and both bands recorded for Island. God's Reverb,Dark Hill,Handle Me and other melodic, restrained songs on Kissing the Roof of Heaven do bring to mind the type of introspection, spirituality and thoughtfulness that has characterized so much of Bono's work. But for all the similarities, Hinterland was far from a clone of U2. This rock-pop-folk outfit does have a striking identity of its own, and another noteworthy influence is Sting and the Police. Hinterland showed a lot of promise on Heaven ? it's just a shame that the CD was so underexposed and little-known in the U S.
