Originally from Portland, Maine, Kate Merrill has been developing and honing her sound in the New York City Music scene for the past couple of years. Her voice has been described as Norah Jones meets Duffy. Her performances around NYC include appearances at The Bowery Electric, Desmond’s Tavern, The Cutting Room, The Way Station, Union Hall, among others. Her music education began at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY where she earned credits as a Musical Theatre Major, with a concentration in Vocal Performance. She went on to graduate from Wagner College in 2009 with a B.S. in Arts Administration with a concentration in Music and Theater. She also studied under the classical voice instruction of Lynne Vardaman and Elizabeth McCullough.
