Premiering on WHYP Radio July 4, 2013, Dazario's 3rd studio album's highly anticipated lead-off single "Misfit" opened up with insane energy and mind-bending rapid fire lyrics. "This one's for the clubs!" remarks a fan. Earning a 90 out of 100 Pop Score voted on by random Jango listeners, Dazario's new album "Meet Dave" came out swinging and refused to let up until the final lyrics reverb finally trailed off. Playing with new dubstep and glitch hop sounds yet remaining true to the essence of who Dazario is as an artist, this new album promises to push sonic and lyrical boundaries. You may have to indulge in a few listens to get all the intricate references and irony in the lyrics, but by the time the beat has permeated your psyche, you will be humming the lyrics in your head long after the speakers have finished vibrating. Below are excerpts from an interview Dazario conducted on the subject of his 3rd studio album "Meet Dave." * What inspired the title? There is an Eddie Murphy movie called "Meet Dave" where there is a miniature robot of himself controlling himself from the inside. In the trailer, the first thing that is said is "Meet Dave. It's not how he looks on the outside, it's what's on the inside that counts!" That pretty much sums up what this project is about. Dave inside me can be an introvert, a bit of a bookworm, somewhat of a geek, and more of an intellectual than Dazario. Dave uses big complicated vocabulary and all that stuff. Dave can also wear his heart on his sleeve and is more affected by falling in and out of love, and heartbreak. He's also more futuristic and forward in his thinking. * Is meeting "Dave" a different experience than meeting "Dazario"? It is a different experience. Dazario can be kinda outwardly cocky, unaffected, and all business. Dave is that inner voice in me that has insecurities and vulnerabilities that Dazario has, but avoids showing. Dave is a good guy. A quiet guy that likes to dream, experiment, think and love. Dazario is a good guy, too, but he's more aggressive, and he's the type to guard his heart. Dave is the type to display his heart, and sometimes, ends up getting hurt by it. * Finally, to go with the school theme, what words of wisdom would you like to share? I would advise people to not be afraid to be who you are. Don't be afraid to discover who you are. A lot of who we are is shaped by influence, environment, our peers, and the fear of being different and not fitting in. A phobia of being ostracized and outcast. Never be bullied into conforming to the way someone else thinks you should look, sound, walk, stand and be. We were all made to be different. Never run away from what makes you a unique individual.
