Derived from the word satori, S’tori captures Aurie’s journey of a deeper awakening of self. A realization of the unchanging truth of who she is and her life’s purpose. S’tori is a collection of memories, experiences, and moments that Aurie has been through over time. During the creative process of the album, Aurie lived as many versions of herself that were not true to her identity. This included working a job that was not satisfying to her at a soul level. Though she had a sense that her calling was to create and, she still felt the fear that comes with making the life-changing decision of resigning from her job. This was a turning point to leave behind much of what defined her. During this time, Aurie would create and record her music while off work.
