While always technically majestic, Calvin also infuses some real heart and soul into a classic like ' Witchcraft", and takes "What's go'in on" to a whole new level. Obviously comfortable in this mostly quartet setting, with one of Calvin's favorite bassists Tim Hauff holding down the bottom, he also encourages Jeff Chimente to new heights on piano, and changes the moods significantly when Kenneth Nash is added on percussion to the solid drumming of Mark Lignall.
