The EP 'Someday' took around five years to create. It started as a collection of incomplete acoustic songs that were improvised on by a selection of musicians. “The barebones of the tracks were recorded without any real structure or instrumentation ideas in mind. The drums, bass, guide guitars, some keys and my bits were roughly recorded in a mate’s factory room without any intros or endings being thought about. We had to jam around a few ideas then quickly decide on the best bits – I was supposed to be producing this thing and it was a complete shambles. In fact, the EP developed by asking some friends to pop over to my house for a brew and asking them to play a bit on it while they were there. I have a vague recollection of inviting a friend over for a few beers and in a daze we somehow managed to recorded the harmonica whilst struggling to stand up.” Matt struggled financially to complete the EP and it almost never came to fruition. Jon Ellis, a friend of Matts, was the final driving force for the completion of the EP by finding friends to Mix and Master the EP on a budget.
