After a 4 years hiatus in the music industry, Dragon Red has finally proved that they are alive and kicking hard with the launch of their latest single and music video "Spectrum" which was launched in Laundry Bar , The Curve on the 30th September 2014 (Eve Of Halloween). Being in the industry for the past 13 years, Dragon Red who is known for their explosive live performances, still manages to bring their blend of rap - rock to the masses The band gained commercial success after the release of their first album 'Holocaust' winning AIM's Best New English Artiste in 2007. Wanting to capitalize on this success, the band then attempted to capture the Malay market by launching their second release 'Resureksi' which was a mellowed down Malay album. It did not manage to live up to the success of their debut release and hence resulted in the band finding themselves. Through many experimentation with line up and musical direction changes, Dragon Red has finally settled on focusing on what really got them into the scene in the first place - Aggressive rap rock music just like what they did with their debut album. The latest line up consists of Adam Lobo and Land Slyde on vocals, Amil Khan on guitars, Camero on Bass and Brandon Gomez on drums "We've decided to go back to old school rap rock. Its the kind of music that made Dragon Red the band that it was 13 years ago. Slyde will focus on bringing his aggressive rap tones while I will look at bringing back simple melodies with sing a long hooks" says Adam Lobo , vocalist for Dragon Red. "Musically, the band is also tighter as there is more alignment in the musical direction. We're not trying to be too technical with mixing to many different kinds of musical elements. With a new drummer (Brandon Gomez) who is also 100% on board with what we are doing, it makes the song writing process a lot more inspiring" adds Amil Khan the guitarist. The band also chose to preview the music video (insert youtube link here) during the launch where they played escaped convicts who turns to zombies. Citing "Walking Dead" as a reference, the band rocked out during their launch dressed as the music video in an energetic 45 minute set. The band featured a whole bunch of new songs from their upcoming album which can be expected in the first half of next year.
