Richard Houghten grew up close the beach in Southern California were he played guitar at a young age. He learned how to record using a four track recorder. Richard experimented with reversing sounds by flipping the tape over and changing the speed of tape to get different effects. In high school they offered a midi class using Performer and a DX-10 synth. It was one of the best classes he ever took! Artist such as Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Squarepusher, dj Shadow, J Dilla and Flying Lotus have inspired him greatly. He currently teachers guitar in San Francisco and likes to skateboard and go camping with his brother.
