Event Horizon – Gniewomir Tomczyk’s debut album accumulating many musical personalities. Artistic experience and fascination with space have long been colliding, to finally solidify in the form of ten exceptional compositions. Most compositions were created in cooperation with percussionist Gniewomir Tomczyk and pianist Andrzej Mikulski. Stylistics of the album can be defined as jazz/electronic. Compositions we’ll hear on the album are elaborate, progressive pieces oscillating between such musical genres as: jazz, avant-jazz, drum’n’bass, dub, ambient. In turn, the combination of classical music with jazz phrases evokes associations with Third Stream. On the album, we can find anything from soothing, lazily seeping melodic phrases to lively, energetic solos. The invited guests constitute an essential element of the album. We’ll hear well-known Polish artists, i.a.: Piotr Schmidt, Marek Kądziela, Maciej Kociński, Mateusz Smoczyński, Krzysia Górniak, Kuba Więcek, Mateusz Damięcki, and many more. Their contribution has greatly broadened the sound of the album and enriched its artistic value. On one hand, musicians derive from their experience, and on the other hand – aspire at discovering new sound spaces.
