简介
Long, long ago in a far away land, I succumbed to the idea I should tow the proverbial company line. You know it if you’ve lived it. I built the bigger house, bought the fancier cars, got into massive debt – all in pursuit of the American Dream. Though smiling on the outside, I was miserable inside and feeling my light dim with every passing day. It had been years since I’d done anything authentically fun. I was long overdue. Little did I know a chance meeting in 2012 would forever change my life. Rebecca Fisk, noted intuitive psychic, shared with me she was preparing to host a radio show in Laguna Beach. I blurted out, “I’ve always wanted to host my own show.” She replied, “I know. You’re going to be the host!” Within the next month we launched “The Garrett & Rebecca Show” online 5 nights a week. The learning curve was steep, yet thankfully forgiving. By November 2012, I was inspired to create “Rated G Radio,” and create a theme song I’d write and sing myself. Keep in mind, my last singing lesson was 6th grade choir and my skills for all things musical were nonexistent. So much for 6 years of piano lessons! However, I knew with every fiber of my being, it was going to happen! I started writing they lyrics. I kept telling people I wanted to record a song and was looking for assistance. In short order, I was introduced to my Producer, Brian Pothier. Brian took me under his wing and nurtured this creative soul who warbled like a cat in heat. I’m sure he broke his Auto Tune multiple times along the way. That’s how it all started. That’s how “Tell Me Something More” was born. Singing, which is what I’ll call what came out of my mouth, was the “funnest” thing I’d done since photographing professional wrestling in the 80’s & 90’s. Brian had unwittingly unleashed the beast! Brian worked with me again on a second song “Eyes Wide.” I wrote Eyes Wide about opening my eyes to opportunities to change and start being happy! The inspirational song “FOG” (Favor Of God) followed. “Guess What It’s Christmastime” is for my puppies! I love them more each day and the song is dedicated to my first two, Guess and What. Adopt don’t shop! Collaborating on this project with Brian changed my destiny. I am forever grateful for his patience, and for his amazing musical abilities to create beautiful songs, which I love to listen to. I hope you enjoy these songs, too. Please sing along with me and begin making your own dreams come true. Keep you Eyes Wide! The opportunities are here for you! Garrett
