简介
Universe Melody, llc Presents Francois Kie "PACIFIC" The CD "PACIFIC" is a collection of original Melodies and the result of an international adventure gathering , under the trademark Colors & Light ® , accomplished artists such as Ross Hogarth (Sound Engineer), Mike Porcaro (bass), Oscar Cartaya (bass), Francois Kie (piano, keys), David Herzhaft (harmonica), Samuel Garcia (accordion), Tr #1 : Fiesta Lafayette. This piano song has been composed during a night in a Music Club of Montpellier (France), based on the 1, 3, 5 of a chord, simple construction, major chord arpeggios. The name of the song has been inspired by two impressive trips, visiting Louisiana (USA) in 1993 and 1997. You'll enjoy Oscar Cartaya and his powerful Bass line and solo and Francois Kie's virtuosity... Tr #2 : Colors Market. Inspired and influenced by Joe Zawinul "Black Market" Bb pentatonic. This song (french Lyrics) originally created with the band "Colors & Light®" with Christine Flowers : Francois Kie (pno), Pascal Coriu (gt), Samuel Devauchelle (dr), Jean Bertrand Carbou (bs), Christine Flowers (voc). This is a soft version. Tr #3 : Shadows & Secrets (David Herzaft, harmonica). This music is like a Cat , mysterious, secretive and silent, suddenly striking without warnings ! David Herzhaft captured perfectly the mental state of such feline like behavior. Performing an extraordinary presentation, full of "multi-melodies", international talent, feelings, virtuosity on a diatonic Harmonica, which seems hard to believe, wrapped in an override effect. Tr #4 : Smile (Mike Porcaro, bass ). Why play SMILE? Well, Keep your Smile, when difficulties suddenly jump out of the Malicious Box is the best way to react and get the strength to achieve your goals. "Life is too long to live like this" says Ricky Skaggs. So to feel the almighty power of love and forgiveness is better than to keep and feed anger day after day . The best is yet to come! This famous melody from Charlie Chaplin has a background full of kids and adults talking continuously, they laugh loudly at the end , letting the nostalgic music melt in a Huge Smile...something funny approached the artist...Lady Luck just entered! Mike Porcaro plays the Bass. Never before we heard such a powerful bass line and quality of sound , Mike is absolutely a Music Master whom everybody would like to work and play with and learn from. Tr #5 : Let the Children Laugh. This song has been composed at the ARC 1600 in 1984 ; Famous Winter Resort in France (Bourg Saint-Maurice, Alpes) at "L'abreuvoir", cafe-concert. Played the first time with Daniel Solia (dr), Patrick Mirales (gt), Dominique Dipiazza (bs), Francois Kie (pno) . Then recorded in 1993 with Francois Kie (pno), Michel Petrucciani (pno), Philippe Petrucciani (gt), Victor Johns (dr), Dominique Dipiazza (bs). Enjoy the melodic steady bass line and the beautiful musical phrase at the entrance of Oscar Cartaya's Solo. Tr #6 : Eleina. Eleina is the name of an "Angel" , also the name of Francois Kie's best friend at the Schola Cantorum ( France), ( Helene Thanos; Painter/Artist, Famous for the" HAM" session in her Kitchen, Foch ave, Paris). Long melody composed in one take at the Upright Acoustic Piano during his visions sessions in Sete (south of France). See the two CDs "Little Pianistic Prophecies". Tr #7 : Prelude Sonate #6, Jean-Sebastien Bach ( Samuel Garcia, accordion). This masterpiece is a challenge for the Piano. Right and Left hands play at 2 Octaves interval this difficult but fantastic and beautiful long Melody. The Piano and the Accordion play at the unison at the highest level for the best result! Answers and Questions are the Game of the Masterpiece, revealing maybe a few principles of the Fractals...perhaps 400 years earlier. Special thoughts to Linda Martinez †. Tr #8 : Exit 12. Based on the composer/drummer Daniel Solia's rhythm idea (the low note of the octave game at the beguinning of the song is the kick, the high note the snare) ... Exit 12 is a reaction in 1990 to the Jazz "Cliche" ...Played during the original band Colors & Light with Frederic Monino (bs), Daniel Solia (dr), Sega Seck (dr), Jean-Marie Frederic (gt), Pierre Diaz (Sax). Rearranged later in 1993 with Lyrics by Colors and light featuring "Christine Flowers" (France) . This new version is more acoustic, Pure and Simple. Oscar Cartaya plays a new energetic bass line. Tr #9 In The Light. Composed at the age of 17 in Paris, Francois Kie named this song for his daughter Laurie in 1990 at the time of her birth. Eternal source of inspiration . The melody nostalgic at the beginning turns in an endless enlightment . Tr #10 Shadows & Light. This music is like a peaceful and beautiful Cat, silent and gentle. "Wisdom" Tr #11 Me Ke Aloha Pumehana (Mike Porcaro, Bass). "With the best of my Love" Fantastic universe of sounds providing by the double Mike Porcaro's electric Basses . Pacific is the title of the album. Francois Kie has been impressed by the Islands, the Aloha State and itsMagnificence, the Majesty of the Pacific Ocean and the powerful symbolic message of Peace and Love (where his Mother rests in peace) ...The first notes of the Melody will remind you the State Anthem "Hawaii Pono'i ". However the music was composed in 1995 in France and Inspired by Peter Erskine's song "Not a Word".. Tr #12 Élysées-Matignon. African beat on a Eb pentatonic, 12 on 5 then a game chord on the 12 tones wrapped in a binary beat. "African rhythms merging with the Occidental beat ". The name has been inspired by the lack of communication between the French government siege , "The Elysee" and Matignon office in regard of the French-African Foreign Policy. Francois Kie (pno), Jean-Bertrand Carbou "JB" (bs), Samuel "Sammy" Devauchelle (dr), Alex Augé (sax), Manuel Perez (perc). Composed and recorded by Colors & Light ® 1994. Track #13 A Dream of Love. Bonus track. It has been written in december 2003 and recorded in "one take" at the Piano . Lightly orchestrated...Piano solo alone does exist as well and the sheet music is available. Re-arranged on the 13 of February 2008, Valentine's Day eve, the music expresses the Serenity of a new "Encounter". Three times the same phrase will come back like a nostalgic romantic gentle wave, then the last part is ending by a beautiful major chord picturing a perfect Harmony and in a Big Smile, releasing out the great feelings of Happiness and Freedom . Francois Kie: Piano, Keys. Mike Porcaro: Bass on 4, 11. Oscar cartaya: Bass. Samuel Garcia: Accordeon on 7. David Herzaft: Diatonic Harmonica on 3.
