"KEEPIN THE WOLVES AWAY" After 8 Orthopedic surgeries in the past year, I wus ready to git outta the wheelchair and lay down some groove thangs. Enter Kent Phillips, he of the Desert Rock Sound Studio-Cave Creek AZ in March '09. Kent(aka "KIP"), a very fine and elegant man, and super guitar/bass playa in Muscle Shoals AL, acquiesced to my recordation demands. In short order, with a consortium of funkmeisters,"PHUNKY PHARM" was cut & re-cut, leaving a twisted smile in ever'bodys heart. THEN, Dr. JIM REISKE appeared on the scene. Dr. JIM brought in the Beatles Trident recording desk, and proceeded to whup a** in such a manner as to provide clarity to the project, along with an ungodly mastery of recording, producing, arranging, MUSICIANSHIP PAR EXCELLENCE(his guitar,bass,percussion,singing,et al will mess yo head up). Along with Jim, WILL REISKE, Jims 14 yr old son(now 15) introduced himself as a studio drummer/percussionist/komputor ace without equal-anywhere. I'm tellin' you - these guys are the reel deel. So, with Kippy, Mark Kaufman, Chuck"Kibby" McKibbin, Jim & Will Reiske, & moi as the basic rhythm section, we kut a bucket-full of tunes in various idioms that ultimately surprise the ear.I sure hope you like it.
