New & Improved was a band that started in 2012, at the closing of our 8th grade year. At that point, we were just trying to find friends to play music with, and since we each knew a couple of Green Day and Blink-182 songs, we decided to hang out and jam. Over the summer, we hung out almost every day, playing music, playing video games, and eating pizza. The concept of writing songs and being in a band was something that came naturally; after a couple weeks of just playing, we began to make mixes of songs, and eventually came to writing our own. Like most bands first songs, they were really bad, but we put our pride into them. Soon we ran into the problem of needing more members to play in our band, which became a real roadblock for us. We rotated a bunch of different friends, none of them lasting too long due to one reason or another. Years later, we reached where we are today, but not without many lessons learned. And I think that’s the best thing to have come from the experience of being in this band. I’ve learned so much, had so many experiences, taken amazing opportunities, and formed unforgettable memories. We’ve both put a lot of time, effort, and pride into this EP, because it is not just three songs that we wrote; it is a culmination of hours of work, dedication, blood, sweat, tears, and emotion.
