简介
Tybox is an emcee from Northern California who currently resides in Chico, California and is in the final stages of his degree in Applied Computer Graphics at California State University, Chico. In high school, Tybox fell in love with hip-hop culture and became especially interested in the less-popular “Fifth Element” of hip-hop, the art of beatboxing. After gaining a notorious reputation in the Ukiah Valley for his beatboxing skills, he moved to Chico in 2005 to pursue his degree and began recording music at that time. In 2007 Tybox released his first project, a short mixtape called “Achievement Unlocked” with producer DJ Stallion. After distributing a few hundred copies of this mixtape, Tybox attacked the local community, performing at local venues with his DJ, Matticulit, and long-time collaborator Tsunami, and having the honor of sharing the stage with acts like Zion I, One Block Radius, QWEL of Galapagos4, and Hieroglyphics members, Souls of Mischief. In October 2010, Tybox released his second project, entitled Idol Hands, through the locally based Moonshine Music artist collective. The album’s first single, The Process, earned him respect in the musical community with its insightful lyrics, infectious hook, and high quality video. The album features a number of Tybox’s frequent collaborators and displays a mastery of the microphone and a venture into his own, Northern California sound. With another project already in the works and frequent live shows, Tybox is poised to make a lasting impact on the hip-hop genre by bringing a fresh perspective and a new voice to an already dynamic art form.
