简介
Brooklyn-based Singer/Songwriter Andi Rae Healy has been a mainstay on New York City’s indie-country scene for nearly a decade. Her debut album, I Guess I am a Sinner--featuring contributions from artists as diverse as pop princess, Cyndi Lauper and indie darling, Jill Sobule--was released in 2006 and earned rave reviews for its deep melodicism, lush production, and its brutally honest and painfully heartfelt lyrics. In the ensuing years, Andi Rae has performed across the country, been a finalist at World Cafe Live's Philly Rising Showcase, played shows for the Honky Tonk Angels and Brooklyn Country, as well as hosting and organizing annual Earth Day shows and fundraisers to support the environmental causes that she cares so deeply about. In 2012, Andi Rae launched a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $12,000 to record her long-anticipated follow up: a hard-driving, boot-stomping effort (featuring live-in-the-studio performances by her crack band, the Back River Bullies) with hints of 90s rock and classic country entitled If You Want to Be My Man, which after three years of painstaking work, was released on Sept 18th at Hank's Saloon. "As impressive as indie gets...Healy clearly thinks like a mature artist, weaving images together into a thematic continuity that is ever-present yet subtle." - Barney Quick, IndieMusic.com Andi Rae Healy's Latest Is So Good It's Almost Sinful...Healy’s vocals are at once potent, powerful, fragile, beckoning, vulnerable yet guarded. She writes like someone who has tasted her share of life; has been hurt; has been exhilarated; has found and lost her faith. There is a dare in this music...Yes sir, this is one dangerous woman." - Mike Parker - BuddyHollywood.com "The result is a bluesy, alternative-country album that showcases her powerful voice over lush instrumentation." - Steve Wildsmith, The Daily Times - Knoxville, TN "Healy is fortunate to possess a voice of her own and strong songwriting and arranging skills. She's one to watch." - Doug Cornell, Hit Session Spotlight Reviews "It is obvious right away that she's not afraid to use her full range to express the emotions of her lyrics. Her singing is great - full, honest and even sexy..." - Steve Allat, The MusesMuse.Com "The work of a gypsy siren. This album is sure to please fans of the first song straight through to the end." - Erin Lacour, the Deli
