简介
Johnson Roberts is a mulit-instrumentalist with a heart for ministry. He uses organic vices like violin, mandolin, bouzouki, piano and dulcimer to take the listener to a place of worship and reflection. Johnson began studying violin at the age of five and from that moment has felt a strong calling on his heart to help others find true worship. He is heavily involved in local worship circles providing accompaniment for worship events all over the southeastern United States. Johnson has performed with the likes of Michael W. Smith, Bill Gaither, Travis Cottrell, Michael Passons (Avalon), Point of Grace, David Phelps, Newsboys and Mae for various events and recordings. Johnson has also studied jazz and improvisation under the direction of world-renowned jazz violinist, Tracy Silverman. In his debut solo project, Theory of Colour, Johnson takes a more personal approach to worship using traditional acoustic instruments in a blend of various styles. From Celtic and Appalachain music to classical and jazz, Johnson Roberts uses his abilities to approach worship with his own unique voice. "Raised in the deep South, Johnson Roberts understands the language of America's heartland. So it is no wonder the multi-faceted instrumentalist/songwriter uses folk's finest devices - the fiddle and mandolin - to construct an organic musical discourse. Whether a Celtic drone, rhythmic chop or low-rumbling tremolo, Roberts infuses his instrument of choice with such appropriate personality it is hard to imagine the devices ever being acquainted with more capable hands. If you've ever wanted to hear instruments speak, listen to the music of Johnson Roberts." - Andrew Greer, Christianity Today
