简介
Born in Panama City and musically & theatrically trained in Miami & Mexico City, Marisabel was the first Panamanian VJ for MTV Latin America and a member of the duo 2Sweet with whom she scored the European hit “Bomba Latina” moving her to Paris. She also released the single “The One” in Panama with rapper Saiko, which was later licensed for Toyota Camry advertising campaign in the United States. Marisabel’s musical adventures from Panamá to México to France culturally influenced her debut EP Preview that brings together music lovers of all stripes, featuring songs in both Spanish and English. Now living in L.A., she’s continuing to nourish her creativity. She worked with many great creative minds on Preview, including producer Bernard Yin, of the group Astra Heights. She co-wrote the satirical track “Blah” with Marthín Chan, the renowned songwriter and member of Volumen Cero, and other Panamanian talents like Alejandro Lagrotta and Gabriela Gnazzo. While the music on Preview is a high-energy combination of pop, rock, and funk, MARISABEL tells us she wrote “what my soul spoke to me.” She writes about life, love, and hard times, and points to the uptempo “Estoy Enamorada,” as a noteworthy cut: “It’s like the chant of love. It’s a fun love song, just yelling out. You’re in la-la land.” Influenced by her favorite pop music from the ‘80s –Madonna, Blondie, Pet Shop Boys, Cindy Lauper, and power-ballad era Heart, Marisabel’s music grabs you with urgent beats, melodies and honest lyrics. Look for Marisabel’s debut EP Preview to be available in the Fall of 2008!
