简介
Taylor Armerding was a co-founder of the progressive bluegrass band Northern Lights in 1975. He spent the next 28 years as the band's front man, mandolin player, lead singer and chief songwriter. During those years, the band recorded nine albums and toured nationally and internationally, playing occasionally with the late fiddle legend Vassar Clements, bluegrass star Peter Rowan and folk icon Jonathan Edwards. Three of his songs reached the Top Ten on the bluegrass chart, and one was nominated for Song of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. The band won a Boston Music Award for Best Country Artist in 1990. Since 2001 he has fronted the Vermont-based Bluegrass Gospel Project, plays occasionally with his son, singer-songwriter Jake Armerding, and has become part of the Jonathan Edwards trio, touring the East Coast. By day he is an editorial writer and columnist for The Eagle-Tribune, in North Andover, MA.
