A banda Quintal de Sinhá oriunda da cidade de Pelotas – RS iniciou-se em 2011 tendo como raízes as fortes influências locais da cultura afro-brasileira e sua ancestralidade. Traz em suas composições toda a temática e musicalidade inseridas neste contexto, que perpassam desde o folclorismo do imaginário negro e sua religiosidade a expressões culturais populares, construindo uma ponte atemporal entre dois mundos. Mesclando estes elementos ao jazz, world music, samba, tambores africanos, árabes e afro brasileiros, a banda obtém como resultado uma sonoridade muito rica e diversa, que expressa de forma intensa estas ideias. O disco “Roda do Tempo” é inspirado neste universo.

The “Quintal de Sinhá” band from the city of Pelotas - Brazil started in 2011, taking as its roots the strong local influences of afro-brazilian culture and its ancestry. It brings in its compositions all thematic and musicality inserted in this context, ranging from the folklore of the black imagination and its religiosity to popular cultural expressions, building a timeless bridge between two worlds. Mixing these elements with jazz, world music, samba, african, arab and afro- brazilian drums, the band gets a very rich and diverse sound that expresses these ideas intensely. The album “Roda do Tempo” (Wheel of Time) is inspired by this universe.
