Daryl Wicker & Potter's House Choir is located in Columbus, OH. Daryl is the music pastor at The Potter's House Church. The choir is a multicultural mixture of church members who just love to sing and worship Jesus Christ. Daryl is the main singer and writer of this creative music. He has been a record producer since the mid 80's. To date he has produced 100 albums with "Our Amazing God" being the 100th. He plays multiple instruments and has since the age of 5. His main instrument is piano, followed by bass guitar and drums. Daryl is a producer of recorded multimedia content and is an audio engineer. The album "Our Amazing God" was written, arranged, produced, recorded and mixed by Daryl. Various other companies helped in the process. Vanguard Recording from Nashville, TN captured the event on Sunday, May 5th, 2013. Various pre-recording sessions were recorded and engineered by Daryl in his basement. The band consists of Matt Hines (keys), Jason Rodriguez (Bass), Donald Lomax (Drums), Everett Banks (Percussion), Jeff Cox (Guitar), Mark Jackson (Guitar), Danny Reynolds (Guitar), Bobby Smith (Trumpet), Sam Reynolds (Trumpet), Sam Reynolds Jr. (Trumpet), Neil Scott (Sax), John Michael Day (Organ) and Daryl (keys, aux keys, organ/all studio). Front line singers: Cheryl Shuck, Stephanie Gregory, Paul Hosie, Sonya Collins, Tonya Hosie, Lynn Petrosino. The choir was a combination of the Sunday Morning Worship Choir and the 1Voice youth and young adult choirs. After months of writing, arranging, recording and rehearsing… Saturday May 4th produced a 4 hour recorded rehearsal in real time. Twice through. The writing began in January and the final song was completed just two weeks before the live recording. The Sunday morning recording was chosen because we knew we would have a captive audience from our normal Sunday morning services plus some guests. We recorded the whole thing twice. Once at 9 am and the second time at 11 am. Then we stuck around until 6:30 at night doing the choir overdubs. It was grueling but the people who volunteer for the music department were excited and willing because they believed in what we were doing. The results are thrilling to us. Our desire is to create music for the church by the church with life, truth and passion. Believe it or not. Daryl wrote the songs, recorded the songs and demos all by himself with the exception of "I Want More", "He is Amazing" and "Redeemed" in which he co-wrote with Sara George, Steve Crawford of Lakewood Church in Houston and Matt Hines. Matt Hines assisted in arranging many of the songs. Everyone had to suffer through the demos of Daryl singing all of the parts; soprano, alto and tenor so everyone could learn the songs. In the middle of the process Daryl got a polyp on his vocal chords. By miracle, he was able to sing the whole day (May 5th) without complications. Very simply… God is amazing. After the recording in May, post production began. Sorting through what was recorded, extra noise removed and performances repaired (playing live gets exciting and mistakes get made) and the final mix processes. Each song took at least 15 hours of listening to and leveling to make the final two track master. Over 96 channels of audio were condensed down to the stereo mix that you are listening to. A live video was captured by the video production company Media Images and was edited by Ben Kalb. This entire project was conceived to bring quality christian music to the church from the church. Daryl has had a long term vision to create many products like this since the age of 17. And now, finally we can present this recorded project to you.
