Drawing on his love for Soul, Jazz, R&B, Classical, Folk, Electronica, Samba and Bossa Nova, "Been So Long" takes you on a musical journey, pulling you deeper into this wonderful sonic world Sidney has created. The songs are well crafted and layered and intricate, yet very easy and enjoyable to listen to. "This album has been a labor of love, literally", said Sidney. "From my sons, my wife, my sister and mother, my entire family and friends, these songs have emerged. I write and sing what I know". ALBUM LINEAR NOTES: "I want to first say thank you for supporting me with “Been So Long”. This CD has been a labor of love…literally, and I am honored to reveal myself to you in this way. From my sons, my girl, my mother and sister, father, brother, brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, and niece, to my good friends – these songs have emerged either in word or deed. I recorded this album in my small (and I mean small) studio. At first I was just writing songs to become familiar with my new recording software (Sonor X1 Studio). After about the fifth song, it dawned on me – “uh…hey…why don’t you just make an actual CD and stop kidding around”…that’s me talking to myself. Thus, “Been So Long” and this time of discovery. No one does anything on their own, although it may feel like it at the time. We are all supported and guided by the many voices which echo through the halls of our lives. To that end, there are countless people whom I want to thank and acknowledge; people who have encouraged, advised and supported me along my path. However I know that if I attempt such a huge task I will inadvertently leave out very important people. I don’t want to do that, so……..I will simple say thank you, thank you thank you.
