E.W. Harris's third studio solo album, in collaboration with the Saraz Entourage and Saraz Musical Instruments, is a hi-fi lo-tech folk romp through space and time. Built around Harris's powerful vocals and sci-fi/dystopian themes, ReEntry examines the human condition from the perspective of vampires, aliens, and accidental demigods. Orchestrated around a fully chromatic set of handpans (custom crafted for the project by Saraz Musical Instruments), this record features performances by the world renowned percussionist River Guerguerian, violinist/composer Marc Hennessey, emerging handpan artist/educator Peter Levitov, and performer/builders Mark Garner & Josh Rivera. Conceived in the mind of Saraz's own Mark Garner, co-producer/handpan builder/artist/entrepreneur, ReEntry is a kind neo-retrospective of songs chosen from throughout Harris's songwriting career. Utilizing Harris's idiosyncratic production style and the unmistakable magic of Saraz handpans, this record artfully harmonizes a decades worth of material into a single focused work. In so doing ReEntry becomes a record not about various songs, but about perspectives, about humanity, and about ourselves.
